Bye Bye Car

Yesterday I had some good news. My friend in Wagga, Luke, is going to buy my Falcon Station Wagon off me.

I have been trying to sell it for a little while and I am glad that I have finally sold it. Although it was a good car it is quite draining on the finances having to register, insure, service etc etc a second car.

Whilst it is good that I have sold it, some things I really liked about the station wagon were:

- It would seat 5 people comfortably on a long trip.

- I had lots of good times with friends and youth group going on adventures all over the place.

- You can put all sorts of stuff in the back. It was especially good for those trips to Bunnings where you need to transport long sections of timber home.

- It was pretty inexpensive to buy in the first place (I got it from my old work at the trade in price) at $9000.

- After owning it for 3 years and having done 50000kms in it, I sold it for $6000 which means that it has only depreciated $1000 a year (pretty good for a car of it's type).

- You can sleep in the back. The roominess isnt great but it is a great option in a pinch.

- I did my first adventure drive (along the coast to adelaide and back along the Sturt) in it and for the 3000 or so km's I drove I never had a problem.

- Oh, and this picture reminded me that it also can tow things! :)

So although it is gone (well it will be as of Saturday) it has well and truly earnt it's place on the cool wall of cars I have owned.

Ah, goodbye ye ole station wagon o' whiteness, along with (I assume) your woo hoo - WHU - number plates!

Hey, at least you still have that sleek silver sporty thing to rip around in :)

Some good news today my friend. I am now officially in the Uncle club, with the birth of Samuel Gray (Tim and Jens first baby boy). Both parents and baby are well and it's really uncanny how the baby looks EXACTLY like my brother did, when he was a baby!

Hope life is treating you well buddy.

I much prefer the pulling power of the 350Z...if you know what I mean.

Allan.

Hey Stu,
Thanks for the heads up on that one.
Problem rectified.

As always, society is to blame.
